With extensive design experience and expertise in advanced 3D modelling and finite element analysis, we optimise structural performance while managing material costs. We work closely with architects, developers and contractors to provide clear, buildable documentation that supports efficient building consent approvals and construction.

Director & Senior Structural Engineer (CMEngNZ, IntPE, PE)Cory is an accomplished structural engineer with comprehensive experience in structural design, seismic assessment, and remediation across New Zealand and the United States.
As a CMEngNZ, IntPE, and PE registered engineer, he has led design teams on residential developments, commercial centers, and industrial facilities.
He specializes in seismic engineering, foundation design on challenging soils, and steel/concrete structural design.
Cory is passionate about engineering excellence, helping architects and builders turn creative visions into structurally sound reality.
Orlando Barcena
Director & Senior Structural Engineer (NZSEE)Orlando is a Director and Senior Structural Engineer at Dev Structural with extensive expertise in structural analysis, earthquake engineering, and seismic resilience across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
As a member of the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE), he brings deep technical insight into seismic behavior, NZS design standards, and construction observations (PS4).
He specializes in detailed structural modeling, reinforced concrete and structural steel systems, and innovative foundation solutions.

Huan Nguyen
Director & Senior Structural Engineer (CPEng, CMEngNZ, IntPE NZ)Huan is a Director and Senior Structural Engineer at Dev Structural, recognized for his technical rigor, project leadership, and client-first approach.
As a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng, CMEngNZ, IntPE NZ), Huan has extensive experience in the engineering design of new commercial builds, multi-unit residential complexes, and complex seismic retrofit projects.
His expertise encompasses detailed seismic evaluations (%NBS assessments), forensic engineering assessments, and PS2 structural peer reviews.
Huan ensures every project benefits from optimized design efficiency, smooth building consent approvals, and uncompromising structural integrity.
