An existing six-storey commercial building in Wellington that has undergone a comprehensive seismic retrofit to improve earthquake performance and achieve a target of 80% New Building Standard (NBS).
The project included Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) strengthening and advanced non-linear structural modeling to inform and optimize the retrofit design.
These advanced engineering methods were used to enhance the strength, ductility, and overall seismic performance of the existing structure while retaining the building asset for long-term use.
